Hey, I'm Ruben. I run a tiny production studio and spend my days figuring out how to tell stories, build systems, and spark interesting movements.
Mostly, I try to follow what excites me and make high-impact, independent ideas happen with whatever resources I can scrape together. This space is a casual, transparent directory of how I spend my time—a record of progress, creative experiments, and landmark milestones.
Landmarks
These are the key projects that occupy a lot of my mind space. They have their own dedicated logs:
- Hacker's Blood — A short suspense story about a nomadic black-hat hacker who has a bone-chilling encounter. This is my first step into creative fiction.
- BehindRuben — A personal, behind-the-scenes look at my creative process, workflows, and experiments as I develop a separate, higher-production-value flagship project.
- Building A Proactive Society — A book in progress detailing how we can transition from reactive survival to intentional, systemic change.

Winter (Jan — Mar)
The Foundation & First Sparks
- Fiction & Writing: Wrote and published Hacker's Blood on Substack, drafted short pieces like Sundown and Nest Egg, and started outlining the Building A Proactive Society book.
- Systems & Craft: Custom-built my Emacs writing environment, dove into Peter Stroh's Systems Thinking for Social Change, and authored an essay on the Inevitability of AI.
- Media & Play: Produced initial video log thoughts for BehindRuben and spent a bit of time testing strategies to beat decision paralysis.
Spring (Apr — Jun)
Workflows & Studio Operations
- Production: Scripted and edited video pieces, establishing a repeatable "Media Architecting" filing and organization system for studio assets.
- Coding & Skill Practice: Practiced C++ and built simple C# utility apps to sharpen programming fundamentals.
- Practical Study: Began intensive study notes and exam prep for real estate, balancing practical responsibilities with creative exploration.
Summer (Jul — Aug)
New Narratives & Deep Focus
- Story Development: Shifted focus into world-building and writing scene blocks for a new project, West West Fiction.
- Audio & Composition: Composed and refined background sound design and releasable music tracks for upcoming studio releases.
- Momentum: Explored content monetization models, completed intensive question-bank testing, and kept the creative engine running steady.
